Layer 4 is pleased to announce it has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, a recognised standard which demonstrates that key measures are in place to protect systems and data from common cyber threats.
Cyber Essentials is a government-supported scheme designed to help organisations guard against the most prevalent forms of cyber-attack. Certification provides assurance that essential security controls have been implemented and maintained.
To gain the ‘Plus’ level certification, Layer 4 underwent a detailed independent assessment of its systems, processes, and cyber security practices. This included a hands-on technical verification across five core controls, which are shown to reduce exposure to cyber threats when properly applied.
Certifying Body Status
In addition to achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification, Layer 4 is now authorised to act as a Cyber Essentials certifying body. This means the team is qualified to assess other organisations seeking to attain either level of Cyber Essentials certification.
To gain this status, Layer 4 was required to demonstrate technical competence in cyber security, complete an accredited training programme, and undergo an external audit. The process involved reviewing the Cyber Essentials framework in depth, understanding the assessment methodology, and learning how to support clients through certification.
A Structured Approach to Cyber Security
Layer 4’s cyber security team brings together specialists from across its dedicated division to help clients put effective controls in place and meet recognised industry standards. The team is now also available to guide businesses through the Cyber Essentials certification process from initial preparation through to assessment.
